Apple Walnut Bake
1 1/2 lb. (4 medium) apples, peeled, cored, quartered
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 Tbsp. butter
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup nonfat milk
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. white sugar
1 oz. (1/4 cup) walnuts, finely chopped; optional
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. white sugar

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In a large bowl, toss prepared apple quarters with lemon juice. In a 10 inch pie plate, melt butter in oven; add brown sugar and blend together. Arrange apple pieces on sugar in pie plate. Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes. Using the same bowl that held the apples, beat egg with milk, flour, salt and 2 Tbsp. sugar. Pour batter over partially baked apples. mix cinnamon and sugar together; sprinkle over apples. Sprinkle with nuts, if used. Return to oven and bake 15 minutes. Serves 6
