Ginger Snaps
2 cups flour
1 egg
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 cup light molasses
Sift together dry ingredients and set aside. Cream shortening and sugar together and add egg and molasses. Beat well and then add flour and beat until smooth. Mixture should be firm. Take 1 tsp. of mixture, roll into ball and roll in granulated sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake for 10 - 12 minutes at 350 F. degrees.
