Punch Bowl Cake

1 box yellow cake mix
2 (8 oz.) containers of cool whip
1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple, drained
2 large cans of cherry pie filling
1 cup chopped pecans
1 large and 1 small instant vanilla pie filling

Cook sheet cake (prepare according to directions on box) Prepare pudding according to package. In punch bowl: put layer of cherry pie filling 1/2 of cake, cooled and crumbled 1/2 of pudding mixture, 1/2 of pineapple, 1/2 of cherry pie filling, 1 (8 oz) cool whip, 1/2 cup pecans repeat layer and refrigerate over night.
Serves 10-15 people depending on the size of the portion.
